Career and skills

After graduating my dream career pathway would be to become personal or commercial fashion stylist or fashion show director.

Through the course of BA fashion design, I've realised I'm a hands-on

person, I really enjoy making and sawing. It really excites me to challenge myself by using different textiles techniques and facilities, such as 3D printer or laser cut. I develop my skills through incorporating machinery to my studio practice and applying it to my designs.

However, I don’t see myself as a fashion designer. I don’t feel like that would be an ideal career pathway for me.

After my graduation I would like to do masters in Fashion Communication and Promotion or Fashion Styling. I think that would give me more possibilities in the industry as well as develop more skills and knowledge about fashion but from different aspect.

This year I’ve gained more confidence in working digitally with software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Blender and FlashPrint. I’m going to keep developing my skills using those softwares over the course of BA3b. One of my biggest strengths are creativity, working well under pressure, attention to detail and good at working in a team. I think all of those skills will help me achieve my aim. My main weakness is time management. I find it

difficult to stick to the plan. Through my last year of BA I will work on getting better at time management and building my confidence. The aims I have set for myself for BA3b unit will differentely challenge my weaknesses and allow an opportunity to push my designs outside of my comfort zone. Due to what I have chosen to do for this project  I have enhanced my skills with different softwers what now I can add to my CV. As nowadays everything is moving digitally, employers are looking for people who can operate with got knowledge in working with different softwers and can work digitally.
